Our software runs in fact through a serial
port which is virtually created by a USB port.
To do this, you need to install a VCP driver
from the chip manufacturer. Virtual COM port
(VCP) drivers cause the USB device to appear
as an additional COM port available to the PC.
Our application software accesses the USB device
in the same way as it would access a standard
COM port.
Vista users had some problems with the existing
drivers. Hence we advice to check on the page
link below to download the appropriate driver
according to your PC operating system.
